  • The Handyman/woman position is part of our Handyman Division in which we perform home repairs and services for clients.

    Duties and responsibilities:

    • Daylight shift Monday – Friday 7:30-4:30; optional overtime available sporadically

    • Proficient in the use of power tools

    • Measure accurately and resolve field issues as they arise

    • Maintain a positive relationship with the team

    • Daily interaction with clients

    • Coordinate, order and pick up tools/material as needed

    • Maintain cleanliness and order when possible

    • Must possess carpentry hand tools

    • Follow up with leads; price projects

    • Keep a current calendar linked to the office

    • Fill in at other ERD jobsites as needed- in coordination with handyman schedule

    • Attend company training/meetings as needed

    • Develop long lasting relationships with clients

    • Gradually evaluate and develop growth

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum 2-5 years construction/remodeling experience

    • Ability to lift 50 pounds

    • Work autonomously

    • Trustworthy and honest

    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task

    • Attention to detail

    • Working knowledge of office equipment; Proficiency in MS Office, G-suite applications, VCITA

    • Excellent verbal communication skills and professional appearance

    • Flexibility and adaptability

    • Ability to utilize ADP app for timekeeping

    • Driver’s License and reliable transportation

  • As carpenter and site laborer, you would work alongside a team to complete installations, framing, trim work and other construction duties. Essig’s design-build model requires individuals who appreciate and understand the design process.
